chicken scratched

I did the center double cross stitch the same color as rest of the heart. Three days to make one 9" block 11 more to go. My jury is still out on this. The stamped fabric is very thin. What do youns think?

  1. Me thinks that's going to be pretty!! Three days per block - that's two blocks a week if you give yourself a day off - so in six weeks you should be done. Might be a couple of weeks late for Valentine's Day this year - but if you look on the bright side - it will be 50 weeks early for next year - LOL - ;))

  2. You did a great job on the stitching. I like the heart being all red.

  4. I think you did a great job on it. If the printed fabric seems too thin, you may want to add a layer of muslin under it when you make it into a quilt.
I thought Vintage Chicken Scratch was done on checked gingham, though.

  6. It is so very pretty! You can always place a piece of cotton fabric behind it to make it not so thin
